You may see them out in the community, selling mints or raffle tickets or fundraising in other ways. You might run into them at the grocery store or around town, maybe at your child's school where the donate their time and expertise screening grade-schoolers for vision and hearing impairments. There is certainly more to them than meets the eye.
Many of them have lived in this community for decades, raised their children, and have given long hours of service to the community. Their years of diligence have roughened them up to the naked eye, but like rough stones, they polish up nicely as sparkly gems when they are spotted basking in their labors of community service.
They may not look like tireless warriors, and sometimes they do get tired, and it may not be totally clear that they are effective, generous contributors to the betterment of children and adults. It is clear after just a short notice that they strive to help to improve the local community where they live and work to improve the lives and health of those who live around them in a selfless, friendly manner.
These are the Lions of the community - with their blue shirts and hats and bold insignias - and their laconic motto, the meaning of which is their driving mantra; simply "We Serve."
These are the members, the Lions of Denbigh. For more information on the
